The Candy Bar
You won’t be skimped at The Candy Bar, they hand make their products from scratch. Their fudge for example is made with real butter, cream, sugar and chocolate. No pre ordered mixes.
The Candy Bar serves their own “Jerry Kayes” in-house fine chocolate brand. Named after the owner’s parents Jerry and Kaye, who started The Candy Bar in the 1980s.
The owner Amy told us, “No one is in a bad mood when they come to a candy store.” Freshness is key to the handmade chocolates, caramel, peanut brittle, fudge, toffee, and beyond. The shop comes complete with a caramel recipe over 150 years old that was purchased from chocolateer from Chicago who got the recipe from France. They have a window into their production area so that you can see how it’s done.
You can also find fun molded chocolates and nostalgic throwback candies like candy buttons, candy cigarettes, and whistle pops.
