Luigi’s Italian Restaurant
Since 1998 Luigi’s Italian Restaurant has been serving up delicious pizzas and Italian food. Operated by the Vitale family who immigrated to Wisconsin in the twentieth century from Italy. The original Luigi’s was started in Manitowoc by the parents of Maria Vitale. Vitale and her husband Umberto moved to Sheboygan to open their own Luigi’s in their 20s.
The restaurant is very family oriented is what youngest son Antonio was telling me. “All of my brothers, I have three other brothers, have worked in the restaurant.” Said Antonio as he was showing me around the quaint restaurant.
They offer classic Italian cuisine, pastas, pizzas, Italian sandwiches, desserts, and the rest. A lot of regulars, a personal connection or approach to service. Antonio’s favorite is the lasagna. Or Phadrone Pasta which is roasted red peppers, asparagus, and shrimp all tossed in a vodka sauce.
Luigi’s has a small, full bar. Featuring mix drinks, local beer from 3 Sheeps, and Italian sodas.
