Historic Hotel Northland
The location of Vince Lombardi’s first press conference on February 3rd, 1959. The Hotel Northland was built in 1924. Reopened Valentine’s Day of 2019. The hotel, once the largest in Wisconsin, is now revamped with all of the original charm in tact. From the boisterous lobby and world-class dining experience, to their storied local history, Hotel Northland has a lot to offer. Let’s break it down:
Don’t miss their monthly “1st and 10” tours. Free and open to the public, the hotel gives a full historic tour of the property. You are also welcome to share any past memories or stories of your personal connection to the hotel in the guest book. After that, enjoy specials at on site restaurant Poke the Bear. Poke the Bear
An up-scale, fan-centric sports bar and restaurant. Focused on quality lunch and dinner options. Poke the Bear Puts its own spin on local classics like Friday fish and cheese curds as well as their pub fare.
The Alley & Crystal Ballroom
You can rent their private bowling alley, or be catered to in the same room Mr. Lombardi delivered his first press conference. Crystal Ballroom is a charming spot for weddings or other banquets. The Alley is a private meeting spot you won’t forget.
The Walnut Room
An approachable fine dining experience. Focused on knowledgeable staff and exquisite service. They have an extensive and thoughtful wine selection and regular events and specials.
