Skyline Comedy Club Open Mic | March 2020

The most visited comedy venue in Northeast Wisconsin, Skyline Comedy in Appleton has opened it’s own open mic night. Every Wednesday the doors open at 6:30pm. The shows are free admission, offer buy one get one drinks, and have been growing the scene for comedy in the Fox Valley. Therefore these events are the perfect way to hang out in Appleton on a budget.

The Appleton comedy scene is growing on all levels. More big acts are bringing comedy in Northeast Wisconsin to the main venues like the PAC, Menominee Nation Arena, the Resch Center, etc. Clubs like skyline are booking great shows, and amateurs are getting a shot with so many open mics popping up in the area.

We spoke to the host of the open mic, Dan Kaurin, he told us when it comes to live comedy “I think it represents the culture of a city, you know what I mean?” Kaurin worked for the club before it traded owners, and was grandfathered in as the best candidate to host the mic that was started in late 2018. Kaurin told us, “There’s a specific Madison voice. There’s a specific Milwaukee voice… I think Appleton could have one of those.”
